SPC's latest Mesoscale Discussion (1760) flags a 60% chance of a severe thunderstorm watch issuance within the next few hours. Multiple storm clusters could merge and explode in an environment packing 2000-4000 J/kg MLCAPE, steep midlevel lapse rates, and 50+ kt deep-layer shear. The prime zone for trouble stretches from eastern Wisconsin into northeast Illinois, across southern/central Lake Michigan, southwest Lower Michigan, and northwest Indiana.
