Ohio averages 24.6 tornadoes a year (1996–2025), about 2.8 of them rated EF2 or stronger.
48% of them touch down between April and June, and May alone accounts for 19%. The busiest year on record in that span was 2024, with 70.
Storm reports average about 159 for large hail a year (6.4 of them 2 inches or larger) and 646 for damaging wind (2016–2025).
