Texas averages 129.8 tornadoes a year (1996–2025), about 12 of them rated EF2 or stronger.

60% of them touch down between April and June, and May alone accounts for 29%. The busiest year on record in that span was 2015, with 242.

Storm reports average about 1,285 for large hail a year (197.9 of them 2 inches or larger) and 928 for damaging wind (2016–2025).
