Colorado averages 43.9 tornadoes a year (1996–2025), about 1.6 of them rated EF2 or stronger.

75% of them touch down between May and July, and June alone accounts for 31%. The busiest year on record in that span was 1996, with 98.

Storm reports average about 449 for large hail a year (58.3 of them 2 inches or larger) and 169 for damaging wind (2016–2025).
